The grills are on and the beer is cold, on an overcast day in York, Pennsylvania What The Food Trucksannual event has returned to Penn Park. What The Food Trucks is an event that features many food trucks, beer vendors, live music and other activities. York Daily Record stated there are 34 food vendors from all over the country.
Even with the chance of rain people poured into the event. Lines for trucks were long. Nathan Mann, while waiting in line said “the lines are well worth the wait, especially for the pumpkin funnel cakes. They are the best.”
Many people come to this event as it is a popular event amongst Yorkers. That was something to be expected with the history of the event. Last year’s event pulled in thousands of people and is expected to pull in more this year. According to What The Food Trucks they expect at least 20,000 people during the 7 hours of the event.
Come Monday the final attendance will be released, and it will be a site to see the ending results.
At first glance this event might appear to be more of an adult event. That is not true. There might be beer and wine at the event but there is plenty to do for children as well. The community center is holding many activities for children.
Finding parking in the city is difficult. What The Food Trucks has made parking easier as they have made shuttle pickup areas. One with close access to York College students at the commuter parking lot on the west side of campus and one by the Susquehanna Commerce Center.
